Arbitration panel approved Coca-Cola's energy drink
In July 2019, an arbitration tribunal of the American Arbitration Association settled a dispute between The Coca-Cola Company and Monster Beverage. The panel ruled that the introduction of Coca-Cola Energy was allowed under the terms of a contract between the two companies and Coca-Cola can continue to distribute the beverage and is free to launch it globally. Monster had argued that the beverage violated a non-compete agreement between the companies that was struck in 2015 when Coca-Cola purchased a 16.7% stake in Monster and agreed to distribute the company’s products in the United States and Canada
