University of California Berkeley forced to reduce enrollment cap
A neighborhood group sued the University of California Berkeley due to a growing student body and the effects it has had on the housing in the area. As a result, the university was forced to withhold the acceptance letters of thousands of students. The neighborhood group initially sued to reduce the number of enrollments by 3,000 students but now the group is negotiating with the school to bring that number down to 2,000. The neighborhood group will agree to allow an additional 1,000 students only "if the University of California halted its effort to get out from under the cap through the courts and state Legislature.”
StructuralIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
