USPS Reform Bill Passes the House, The Senate is Next
In May 2021, the Postal Service Reform Act was introduced in order to help USPS activities. A key component of the bill requires postal employees to enroll in Medicare, but dropping the mandate that the USPS would have to cover the costs. This is expected to save the USPS an estimated $50.0 billion over the next decade. The bill also requires USPS to create an online dashboard with delivery time data. The bill is designed to help USPS reduce its costs, enabling it to focus on other business activities and increase efficiency.
