Royal Caribbean Group reopens business for 2021, still recovering from COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic
On February 4, 2022, Royal Caribbean Group released its financial report in 2021 where the company has made $1.53 million in the year, which is a decrease from the previous year when the company had made $2.21 million. The company attributed to the recent wave of the Omicron variant at the end of the year which has impacted its finances despite the company reopening the majority of its cruise lines. However, the company expects all of its fleet lines to open up again for summer 2022 as it expects the year to be a return for profitability in the company.
Discontinued ActivityIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
