Henkel AG & Co. KGaA 2021 sustainability performance and future goals
By 2025, Henkel aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 65.0% compared to the base year of 2010. By the end of 2021 the company had already cut its emissions in half so the company is well on track to meet this target. The company has achieved this through the use of renewable energy and plans to be totally dependent upon renewable energy by 2030. Currently 68.0% of the energy that the company consumes comes from renewable sources. By 2025, the company is aiming for all of their packaging to be recyclable. At the end of 2021, 86.0% of the company’s packaging was recyclable so the company is once again on track to meet this goal.
ESGIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
