Casper announces it is going private after being acquired by buy-out firm
In early 2021, Casper announced its plan to be acquired by Durational Capital Management LP (Durational). In November 2021, the company announced it has reached an agreement with the buyout firm, Durational. Furthermore, the company is being taken private at less than half of its original IPO price. Nonetheless, Casper stated that the transaction with Durational will create immediate and substantial value for shareholders, and allows Casper to move forward on strong financial footing. Casper reported that the Board voted unanimously in support of the offer from Durational and recommended that shareholders approve the transaction.
