This density represents a decrease of 0.1 percentage points in mobile services density from the previous year. The adoption of video streaming on mobile devices has led to a spike in data usage on mobile phones over the past five years, despite data plans rising alongside inflationary pressures. Additionally, many consumers have disconnected from their home phone lines and are exclusively using mobile phones, further supporting mobile density. Overall, IBISWorld forecasts mobile telecommunications density to climb by an average annual 0.2 percentage points over the five years through 2024-25.
