Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) consists of four main divisions:

  • Office of the Commissioner - Provides support and advice to the Commissioner and QFES Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to support decision-making and ensure achievement of key commitments and objectives.

  • Emergency Management, Volunteerism and Community Resilience - Comprised of and providing leadership, direction and support to the Rural Fire Service (RFS), State Emergency Services (SES) and the Community Resilience and Risk Mitigation, and Community Capability and Volunteerism Branches (Community Capability Directorate).
     
  • Readiness and Response Services - Ensures the response capacity of QFES operational staff during emergency situations, as well as fire communications, fire safety, fire engineering, research and scientifc investigation and compliance, technical rescue and breathing apparatus (BA)/hazmat.
     
  • Strategy and Corporate Services - Responsible for leading the strategic framework and vision, driving performance and integrated capabilities within the QFES department. The division comprises executive, ministerial and corporate services, strategic services and human capital management
    (HCM) directorates, and organisational engagement.
