Housing Authority - Products & Brands

The Housing Authority is responsible for improving the availability and accessibility of affordable housing and accommodation in Western Australia. The Authority, which is responsible for approximately 36,000 tenancies across the State, operates through the following divisions:

  • Strategy and Policy - Coordinates social housing reform, develops new policy options, negotiates funding, and works across the Government.
     
  • Commercial Operations - Supports social and affordable housing through housing construction programs, crisis accommodation, complex construction and development projects, residential land developments, and urban renewal projects.
     
  • Service Delivery - Delivers and manages public housing services and programs, supplies Bond Assistance and Private Rental Aboriginal Assistance Loans, coordinates money housing maintenance services, continuously improves and provides property and tenancy management services, and plans, implements and delivers Aboriginal remote and town-based housing services.
     
  • Organisational Transformation - Implements and supports strategic planning and communications, project and change management capability, and workforce development and innovation.
     
  • Business Services - Includes financial services, human resources management, ICT services, facilities management and other administrative and support services and management.

 

From 1 July 2017, the Housing Authority will become part of the new Department of Communities. Also making up the Department of Communities is the Department of Child Protection and Family Support, the Disability Services Commission, the Communities component of the Department of Local Government and Communities, the Regional Services Reform Unit, and parts of the Juvenile Justice and the Department of Aboriginal Affairs.
