Two Birds with one stone – TC Energy to expand pipeline while lowering emissions
In November 2021, TC Energy stated that it had approved its $800.0 million WR Project. The project is designed to expand the existing ANR Pipeline, which delivers gas to midwestern markets. After the expansion, ANR is expected to offer up to 157,000 dekatherms of national gas every day to local markets. Furthermore, this project is anticipated to lower emissions by 30,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, which the company cited as the same as taking off over 6,000 cars off the roads every year. The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2025.
