About this Report

This report is intended to assist buyers of energy intelligence software. Energy intelligence software optimizes the energy used by heating, lighting, ventilation and building electrical infrastructure to reduce energy costs. This software uses inputs from multiple sensors and meters that relay energy usage data back to the software. The user can interpret data so that proper adjustments to lighting controls and HVAC systems can be made for the purpose of reducing energy consumption. In many modern systems, these adjustments are made automatically. Energy intelligence software suppliers often provide software implementation as well as hardware installation. This report excludes energy intelligent hardware, such as smart meters.
