IBISWorld is pleased to present the completed Industry Ireland collection. Totalling 100 reports spanning all sectors of the Irish economy, the collection provides the granular insight already available in our UK and global libraries.
Over the past year, IBISWorld’s expert analysts have regularly been increasing the scope of the Ireland collection, and you can now find detailed information on the supply chain relationships, threats, opportunities and market conditions of hundreds of companies across 17 separate sectors.
Ireland’s low corporation tax, pool of talented personal, and strong technological-connectivity make it an attractive destination for many financial services and tech-based firms, and Dublin is a key industry hot spot. Indeed, more than 38% of all establishments in the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Activities sector are located in the region, whilst the capital accounts for 65.2% of Fund Managers and 76.7% of Insurers.
The manufacturing sector also remains strong, with many export-orientated businesses finding considerable success over the past five years. Medical and Dental instrument exports, for example, total approximately £10.8 billion. However, there is a significant degree of cross-border trade with Northern Ireland, an aspect of daily operations common to numerous Irish industries, and the UK’s exit from the European Union could therefore lead to considerable disruption. In light of this, minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe, has stated that the government would run a deficit of up to 1.5%, as against a planned surplus of 0.4%, in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
Whatever the future holds, IBISWorld’s Ireland collection will ensure your business is well informed and best prepared, with research based on SWOT, PESTLE and PORTER’s 5 FORCES methodology feeding into a thorough understanding of the business environment.
