Industry players are located throughout the United States, with the distribution of production centers roughly in line with population. The sole exception to this trend is a disproportionate presence in the Southeast, particularly in Kentucky and Tennessee. These two states comprise 19.2% of US establishments. This region is the birthplace of American bourbon, and it is still responsible for the majority of its production. In addition, Tennessee is the production location for Jack Daniel's whiskey; the company produces its RTD cocktails, such as Jack & Cola and Jack & Ginger, in the state.
