China's Computer Network Equipment Manufacturing industry developed strongly in the years to 2008 as foreign firms imported cheaper networking equipment, and domestic demand remained high. Network users in China increased sharply and the broadband network developed rapidly. In 2011, the number of network users is forecast to total 512.7 million, up 12.1% from 2010. Broadband network users accounted for about 80.4% of internet users in 2011.
